Welcome to study at the School of Science!

The School of Science offers Bachelor, Master and doctoral level degree studies as well as exchange and non-degree studies in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering and Management, Engineering Physics, Mathematics and Operations Research and Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience. In addition, there are special thematic entities offered such as Aalto Ventures Programme (AVP), Multi-Disciplinary Energy Studies and Aalto Nuclear Safety Minor.

Forward-looking, multidisciplinary studies are at the core of Aalto University where science and art meet technology and business. In addition to more traditional options, at Aalto University you can tailor a more unique study experience to meet your own interests and career goals.

Applying for Bachelor level studies (180 ECTS)

Students who have completed their secondary school education can apply for the Bachelor's degree programmes. Students admitted to the programme are given the right to complete a Master's degree as well.

Starting in autumn 2018, there will be one Bachelor level major offered in English:

The other Bachelor level studies in Information Networks, Computer Science and Engineering, Enginering Physics and Mathematics and Industrial Engineering and Management are offered in Finnish/Swedish only. Applying for Master level studies (120 ECTS)

The two-year, full-time programmes leading to a Master of Science (Technology) degree are applied for as a part of the Master level admissions of Aalto University. Student selection is competitive and based on the applicant's previous study attainments.

Applying for doctoral studies

Doctoral Programme in Science trains doctors of physics, mathematics, biomedical engineering, computer science and industrial engineering and management to serve in the academic world, public sector and industry and commerce. Read more >>
