Campus tour and student projects
Student guilds
Attached to each degree programme on the Otaniemi Campus, is a 'guild'. Guilds have a multitude of social activities and provide a host of useful benefits. Four active guilds operate at the School of Science:
- Computer Science and Engineering: The Data Guild
- Engineering Physics and Mathematics: The Physicist Guild
- Industrial Engineering and Management: Prodeko
- Information Networks: Athene
Guilds offer their members a variety of activities both in Otaniemi and in the Helsinki region, supervise the student members' interests and wellbeing, and keep in touch with other student societies at Aalto in Finland and around the world. Guilds operate in co-operation with the School of Science and are based on their members' voluntary work in the spirit of 'teekkari' tradition.
Guilds are also a contact point for the Aalto University Student Union (AYY) which represents students in different decision-making bodies of the university and promotes their interests in society. There are over 200 different clubs from sports to culture connected with AYY, which also organises events around campus. The Finnish Student Health Services (FSHS or YTHS in Finnish) provides basic health care services for university students.
